This Book is aiming to give a historic revue of the use of time keeping from the first flight i 1903 and up to this day. Part of the time keeping is also linked to navigation, which is why some navigation aspects are part of the book. From the pocket watches strapped to the pilot and/or the airplane to single purpose watches made for pilots and flying will take over during the good 120 years that has passed from the first short flight, being only 12 seconds.
The watches used for pilots and their fans have developed into newer fashions, and a quite strong appetite for remake of icons from the 1940, 1950 and 1960íes has evolved too. Pilots watches had become faddy lately and chronographs is videly used. Other complications such as GMT funtions, day, date and month is also used in the pilots watches. Black face is popular in additions to other colours and bezels giving miles km and other measurements.
